Setesdalen ligger centralt i det sydlige Norge og er lettilgængelig fra Danmark.
Hovedvej RV9 fører gennem mange af dalens landsbyer, og landskabet varierer fra flade landbrugsarealer til høje og smukke fjelde.
Den 210 kilometer lange dal byder på nye udsigter og oplevelser efter hvert sving. 
Om vinteren kan du boltre dig i dalens to skiområder; Brokke og Hovden.

Setesdal har århundredelange traditioner indenfor sølvsmedjekunsten og musik. Endnu ældre er de smukke mineraler, som du kan se både i naturen og på udstillinger. På museerne kan du se hvordan jern blev fremstillet i vikingetiden eller lære mere om områdets byggetraditioner, malerkunst, nationaldragter og husholdning op gennem historien.

Du kan vælge mellem rolige dage med badning i søerne, eller aktive dage med rafting på den brusende elv.

Nyd det flotte vandreterræn, eller find en af de mange attraktioner i dalen. Naturen er flot, men den skal gives videre til de kommende generationer. Træd derfor varsomt i den, og nyd dit ophold i Setesdal.

    Et bæredygtigt rejsemål

    Mange norske destinationer har ambitioner om at være bæredygtige, men at blive certificeret som et bæredygtigt rejsemål er en lang og krævende proces.

    Kun få rejsemål er certificerede, og certificering opnås blot efter mange års arbejde med at udvise bæredygtigt engagement på alle områder. Der kræves konsistent og konkret planlægning af den bæredygtige turisme, og forholdene skal konstant forbedres og støttes. Der skal arbejdes for at beskytte og bevare rejsemålets historie, karakter og natur. Herudover placerer certificeringsprocessen krav om udvikling af rejsemålets erhvervsliv og øvrige samfund efter bæredygtige principper.
