På rundtur til festivalerne

Lad musikken og maden bestemme ruten
Der er mange festivaler i Norge, og det kan være svært at vælge. Den professionelle festivalfotograf Tord Litleskare viser vej.

Det er sådan set bare at lade sin egen gode musiksmag vælge. Du kan finde dig selv alene foran scenen på en eksotisk, mindre kendt festival i Instagram-egnet natur, eller som del af et talstærkt publikum på en af landets større festivaler.

Sørg for regelmæssige pit-stop undervejs, og fyld din mave op med lokale godbidder på en af de mange madfestivaler.

Opdag ny musik – og nye rejsemål

Tord Litleskare er en frisindet fyr. Han er fotograf og chefredaktør på Gaffa Norge, den norske del af det største musikmagasin i Skandinavien.

"Heldigvis har vi på Gaffa lov til at dække den musikgenre og de kunstnere, vi selv bedst kan lide, og den frihed påvirker naturligvis i høj grad, hvilke festivaler jeg besøger i sommersæsonen."

Til at starte med udpeger Tord festivaler i de større byer, for her er der størst chance for, at de mest interessante kunstnere optræder. Det kunne være Pstereo i Torndheim, Utopia i Stavanger, Øyafestivalen og OverOslo i Oslo, samt Bergensfest i hjembyen Bergen.

"Ligesom så mange andre lader jeg festivalens line-up afgøre, om jeg kommer eller ej. Men det er også et spørgsmål om, hvor du er henne i livet. Da jeg var 17 eller 18, var stedet ligegyldigt. Det har nok ændret sig en smule," forklarer Tord.

Men han forstår de festivalgængere, der på samme tid hungrer efter usædvanlige naturoplevelser

"Vinjerock- og Trænafestivalerne passer ofte til de unge, der både vil have nye oplevelser midt i naturen, og har en trang til at opdage nye steder. Det giver et særligt dedikeret publikum, for det er trods alt en større investering af både tid og penge at rejse så langt."

Tord tilføjer, at en anden fordel ved at tage på en af de små festivaler er, at man ofte kan opleve de nye og fremadstormende bands før de bliver store nok til de største festivaler.

"Og der kommer flere og flere festivaler, der fokuserer på specifikke genrer. Nu om dage vælger folk festival alt efter deres måske mere eller mindre finurlige musiksmag. Der bliver stadigt færre af de helt store trækplastre som for eksempel Paul McCartney, og folks musiksmag ændrer sig hele tiden," siger Tord.

Åben dit sind – og din mund

Det samme kan siges om det stigende antal norske madfestivaler, der over årene har tilpasset sig det øgede fokus på lokal mad, hele året rundt, fra hele Norge.

I Haugesund kan du hvert år i august se erdens Lengste Sildebord'. I Hjelmeland finder 'Norsk Frukt- og Laksefest' sted i september måned, mens Valdres er kendt vidt og bredt for den folkekære Rakfiskfestival, hvor der serveres fermenteret ørred. 'Sur & Bitter' er navnet på en festival for mikrobryggede øl i Sandnes hver september, og Klippfiskfestivalen dominerer Kristiansund i slutningen af juni. Listen med madfestivaler bliver bare længere og længere for hvert år.
 

Mad- og musikelskere har endelig noget at være fælles om, når det kommer til at følge deres smag. Det er ret almindeligt at følge ens favoritkok eller yndlingsband rundt i landet. "Når store navne som Sting eller Elton John kommer til Norge, sker det tit, at de giver koncerter flere steder i landet," siger Tord.

Hvilke festivaloplevelser vil Tors Litleskare anbefale til folk, der er i Norge for første gang?

"Start med et par dage i hovedstaden Oslo for at finde ud af, hvad der sker. Tag derefter toget på en scenisk rejse over fjeldene til fjordene og Bergen, for at opleve min yndlingsfestival - Bergensfest."

Tilbage i 2014 fik Bergensfest en del opmærksomhed, da det lykkedes festivalen at hyre Lana del Rey til at spille blot to dage før udgivelsen af hendes album.

"Så var de ligesom på verdenskortet," siger Tord.

I år skal Gaffas norske chefredaktør og hans team dække mindst 22 festivaler.

"Når jeg ikke er på arbejde, så er jeg mange gange alligevel på festival. Bare fordi at det er et nyt og spændende rejsemål."
