Heddan Gard

The Norwegian heritage site Heddan Gard is a farm resort in the beautiful  mountains of southern Norway. With its secluded location, Heddan Gard offers a peaceful stay, a charming and quiet place to get away from it all, at the same time as it is easy  to reach, and not far away from cities, airports or ferry harbours.  The distance to Kristiansand is 90 km, Stavanger 170 km.  The closest railway station, Snartemo is 12 km away, where we can arrange a pickup. From where it is situated, the buildings, nature, history and culture Heddan Gard is an exotic goal for travellers.  We want to offer a pleasant stay in a genuine and comfortable surrounding where our guests can feel safe and at home, experiencing old but well kept buildings, rooms with modern comfort in an exiting environment. All rooms have their own identity creating an atmosphere of travelling back in time.  We can offer bed and breakfast, half board and selfcatering cottages. We serve tasteful meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant “Låven” on demand.  Nature is open all year for Heddan and is easily available in summer and winter. The terrain ranges from 320 to 686 meters above sea level and offers a shifting landscape. From Lauvassjosen, the highest peak in the area, you can on a clear day see the mountain around Kristiansand and Bjerkreim in the east and the west. An abundance of wildlife with moose and rådyr, hare, fox and birds can be experienced at close hand. The 'used nature "surrounding garden, and is clearly marked so you can experience the silent story on its own. Farm museum, hiking, cultural history, cooking and wine tasting are among the activities we can offer.
